When you start looking for a photographer, you will be faced with a lot of options, because there are an incredible number of photographers. So how do you choose the right (wedding) photographer?

I could write a book full of my best tips and tricks for finding the right photographer - and maybe one day I will ;) - but for now I'm going to share my two best tips with you!

The most important tip I can give you is:

Schedule an introductory meeting with the (bridal) photographer!

How do you find out if you really are a match? Precisely by talking to each other. During an introductory meeting the photographer often tells more about who he or she is, their style and the way he or she works. If you have a good photographer, he or she will ask you a lot of questions to really get to know you and discover what your story is. This is also the time to tell the photographer exactly what you have envisioned, what you don't want and to ask all your questions. Believe me, after such a call you will know exactly whether you have found the right photographer for you or not!

Yes, that makes sense! But what is that second tip?

Request a guide/brochure from multiple photographers

You don't schedule an introductory meeting with every photographer. You only do that if you are already 75% sure that he or she could be your dream photographer. But how do you get to that point where you are almost completely sure? By requesting brochures from multiple photographers. Most photographers work with brochures, so they can share all the important information and tons of inspiration with you. When you browse through a brochure like this you quickly get the feeling whether that photographer could be the one or not. And if that is not the case, then you have saved yourself and the photographer an unnecessary introductory meeting ;)

It is precisely for that reason that I also work with brochures myself. I think it's fantastic to share my best tips and tricks with you in a brochure in preparation for your boudoir shoot or wedding day. You can also count on the fact that the brochure is packed with the most inspiring images, so that you immediately get a view of my portfolio. And of course I will share everything with you about my rates and the small print, because no one will be happy if your private photos suddenly appear on the internet without you knowing.

What is it like to book Anouk as a wedding photographer on your wedding day?

Very relaxed, with two brides it was hard work in the morning to get everything properly photographed, but this also gave us as a bridal couple time to sit quietly and enjoy the day even more. She guided us well during the day, sometimes with small instructions for the best results. It felt very relaxed during the shoot, and we wanted more of it so much that we did an after wedding session. During the ceremony I almost didn't notice that she was taking photos, she really gives you the space to get lost in the moment while she takes the most beautiful images. She really knows how to capture moments and capture the atmosphere in the photo.

What is it like to do an outdoor boudoir shoot in Iceland?

If you had asked me in advance whether I was going to do a boudoir shoot, I would have had some doubts about it. By agreeing that photos could only be made public if I gave permission, I felt much more safe and because it was in Iceland it really felt like a once in a life time experience. I felt comfortable with you and being able to see some photos in the meantime quickly left me wanting more! What I won't soon forget is the photo shoot at Diamond Beach. The extreme weather conditions were tough, I mean lying in your lingerie on a beach where rocks of ice wash up... during that we really ended up on a certain high together. There were people around us all the time and yet I didn't really notice it, it was as if the world around us completely disappeared.

What can you experience after a boudoir shoot with Anouk Graumans?



I don't know what I'm seeing, I'm actually looking really good. You have chosen really nice angles. And those colours! Just like a campaign from a commercial. It seems like I'm a top athlete. Look how beautiful, sensual and powerful the photos turned out. It's really amazing how many good photos you were able to take. I keep saying how beautiful everything is, how beautifully you have photographed my body. Sometimes it was a bit confrontational to see myself this way, and even in those moments I thought I was beautiful. You can definitely see I'm having real fun as well. This is so special. How cool is this, if you have such a boutique hotel atmosphere in your bedroom and then a print like this completely enlarged on the wall, very cool. Real respect how beautifully you have portrayed me. Those close ups are really beautiful. You really are that good. I am really amazed at how beautiful the result turned out.
